Earlier today, All Things Digital conducted a telephone interview with Steve Jobs and other Apple senior executives, covering the location tracking controversy (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/27/steve-jobs-interviewed-on-location-tracking-issues/) and white iPhone 4 delays (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/27/steve-jobs-and-phil-schiller-on-white-iphone-4-delays/). In the full interview, Jobs discusses why it took Apple nearly a week to respond to the issue, noting that the company needed to take the time to investigate the situation and figure out how best to relate the information to the public."We're an engineering-driven company," Jobs said in a telephone interview Wednesday. "When people accuse us of things, the first thing we want to do is find out the truth. That took a certain amount of time to track all of these things down. And the accusations were coming day by day. By the time we had figured this all out, it took a few days. Then writing it up and trying to make it intelligible when this is a very high-tech topic took a few days. And here we are less than a week later."Most of the other points of the interview were covered in the earlier highlight piece, but the full transcript also includes new details about how the location database works and about Apple's views on user control over location services.
When pressed on what services Apple might be developing using location information, Jobs referred only to the potential traffic service (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/04/27/apple-hints-at-future-turn-by-turn-gps-directions-with-traffic-for-iphone/) disclosed in the official Q&A, declining to expand on that with additional information or possibilities.

I used to have a program on my Mac that would let me play an audio file and it would let me highlight a moment of time and tell me what note is being played. This was really handy for figuring out bass notes that are too difficult for me to normally here.

This comes to prove that the majority of users actually aren't that dumb... They are smart enough to wait a couple of months for a new/better product... Good for them... I love Apple but the cdma iP4 did come too late...

The only people who want to compare it that way are apple fans. The rest of the world rightfully compare it according to device. Smartphone OS to smartphone OS.
Except iOS is not a exclusively a smartphone OS. Again, if you are a developer, the metric that matters is how many devices are using the particular platform.
You can't have it both ways. You can't compare one phone (the iPhone) against every phone out that runs Android. You either have to do a one-to-one comparison of manufacturer to manufacture (that gives you revenue/number of handsets sold/profitability /market share, etc... Android has no revenue, only the manufacturers). Or you have to compare platforms, which includes all iOS devices and all Android devices capable of running apps such as PMPs, tablets and phones. Here, you can look at how much Google makes from ads generated by users of Android phones which, i think is a more valuable and telling metric. And one that would benefit the Android argument.
But the main point is: DEVELOPERS JUST DON"T CARE ABOUT iPHONE VS. ANDROID, or iPhone vs. HTC, or iPhone vs. anything. All they care about is how many people will have access to their app. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT COUNT! Not you, fandroids, or Apple lovers.
Really, it's kind of a pointless article. The majority of people arguing over this do not develop apps. I'm sure there are some devs who do, but their time would be far better spent making sure their apps are available for both devices.

The front end issues will likely continue for most of the season, it seems to be a trait with the bike, not a setup problem.

I think the sensitivity of the swipe gestures should be a little more sensitive. It works at first, then the next time I try to do it on the same Tweet it opens it instead of showing the extra stuff.

HELP!
I back up all my images onto a WD Elements external harddrive. I have had no issues until yesterday. I pluged in the hd to my macpro and no blue light and could not find it on my computer. Any ideas?

Can Apple really stop TJ Maxx from selling their iPads?
I thought the Authorised Reseller Programme was just that: an "Apple-certified" or "Apple-approved" reseller? Surely any reseller who doesn't have this "sign of approval" still can sell the iPad?
I don't really know the answer to that since every store which I've seen here in the UK which sells Apple products are authorised resellers.
Sorry if it's obvious, it's just that the response makes it sound like only retailers approved by Apple can sell their products; sort of like a cease and desist threat.
No, again, Apple can't stop them from selling the iPad. But it does mean that the iPads TJ Maxx is getting aren't being acquired directly from Apple. It means that they are buying them from a 3rd party. All Apple COULD do is terminate the 3rd party's Apple account (meaning that the 3rd party can no longer purchase directly from Apple) if they want to (if it was a large enough sale to TJ Maxx...80 iPads probably won't matter to Apple). An "Apple approved" retailer is one that has been authorized by Apple to buy Apple products directly from Apple, and thereby get all of the advertising perks, merchandising, etc from Apple.

Your Missing the point, it is a complete waste for apple to release this phone in this color.
#1 - it has taken them almost a year to work out the paint issues with this thing meaning that they have been putting R&D money effertlessly into a phone color, all for what?
#2 - If you are the few that dont have a cover of a "bumper" for your phone, then you will get to show off your cool new white phone which will take on every scratch and every dirt stain you can imagine.
#3 - If they have worked so long and hard on this new color, to mass produce it and ship it all over the world, just before they are going to release a new product, within 6 months (approximately) dont you think they would just for go the ip4 white and just apply it to the IP5 and get prepared for that?
#4 - WHO CARES, who literally waited this long for the white Iphone? honestly who in their right minds would have held out to wait for this phone. If someone was going to get an Iphone I dont think the lack of color selection was a deterrent.

iPhone awesome. locking in an exclusive 2 year deal with cingular...horrible.
iTV great but a bit overpriced or underfeatured i think. i really wanted to buy one, but when i figure i can put another $100 or so on it and get a full fledged mini that will do the same things and more...i just don't see it's value.
name change makes sense to me since noone ever called them Apple Computer anymore anyway. it also shows they are more device focused now.
i was hoping for more than 2 products.
