i do not know what options he has but 'ras' is not talking about 'stock options' most people are answering about. The same happened in my case. Got informed by the lawyer yesterday that my wife's 485 has an RFE and that USCIS has asked for a copy of marriage cert and some pictures of the ceremony/celebrations etc. I do remember sending them this stuff when we initially filed 485.
My lawyer just informed me that I received an RFE on my wife's 485

Hi All,
Recently I received an RFE on my Wife's 485 application asking to prove that we both are still married. My lawyer is asking for around $400 to respond to this RFE, We have already paid the lawyer about $7500 until now for our GC process and she is no longer the preferred lawyer for the company that I am working for, but I had to keep my case with her as she has processed all of my applications until now. My questions are:
1. Can we ourselves respond to the RFE and save the $400.00,
2. If so, What's the process and what documents that we need to send to prove that we are still married.
Appreciate all of your help in this regard.

If Priority date is 'Current', you can't apply for H1 extension!
I know someone whose H1 is expiring soon. He wasn't able to apply for H1extension till July 31st as PD was current. He is applying in August in Premium.
What happens if someones PD remains current ( say someone in 2000 stuck in FBI namecheck) and GC is stuck! Is it EAD all the way to the end thereafter?
What do you mean by infinite? Only till your PD gets current. After that 1 year extensions.

I thought the same about the officer . Now , am in the second category..Have an H1 but my i94 is on H4 stamping ..I hold an Indian passport , do you know if i should get the H1 stamping (first time stamping) in India or can i conveniently get it done in Canada?
So what I understand is that your I 797 (H1 approval) does not have attached I94 at the bottom.
If that is the case, you have two options:
1. File for Change of status with USCIS and then they will send you new I 797 with attached I 94. (you will need your attorney to do this for you).
2. Get H1 stamped on the passport (peferably in India as this is your first H1 stamping).
After that you can get your SS card.

Previously non-resident Indians and foreigners were either not required to make this contribution or allowed to withdraw it upon leaving India.
My reading is that this has no impact on people who do not work in India. It will reduce net pay for citizens of countries without totalization agreements with India, specially because the EPF contribution in India applies to total gross pay without any upper limit.
To sum it up:

The only reason I see the lawyer not applying with enotice, could be he was very busy.
Even my attorney did not file concurrently on 28th as it was last day for PP of 140 and her office was extermely busy applying PP on 28th.
I then walked on 29th and signed all 485 , and she said she will wait for receipt notice and then apply and then July2nd showed up and this fiasco.
Once I got e-notice of approval for 140 by email, I called up the attorney and she filed 485 one day before the announcement of July17th.
At that time she did not have Hardcopy of either receipt notice nor approval notice. So she filed with e-notice of approval.
Next day we got hard copy of approval notice. The receipt notice is yet to arrive in mail.
I hope this is ok. Otherwise 140 receipt notice is a initial evidence and app could get rejected and returned.
But it should return by Aug 17th . So still there is some time to act.
If I dont get receipt notice of 485 by aug 16th, I plan to apply duplicate 485 and say in cover letter that this is because of so and so.
Sad that 485 receipt is not emailed ? like 140 e-notice.

Ask your lawyer. I agree, be proactive and if there is a way you can send the results and file it with your case, do it. Any case medicals are valid for 12-18 months, so if an RFE comes, You can send them same ones again. Again, not sure if you can do this, ask your lawyer.

2. Usually you keep the same I94.
3. Not necessarily. But be prepared to answer questions. If you are unable to prove your intention to be permanently residing in US, upon US GC, that can be an issue.
Basically you have to claim that you have proper intentions now, and at the time of applications of canadian PR and US GC. Also you have to claim that you plan to reside in US permanently if you receive US GC.

EAD has nothing to do with status. He is in legal status as long as his I-485 is filed and waiting to be decided by USCIS, even if his non immigrant visa expired. EAD is work permit and he can't work based on EAD filing but only on approved ead.
