I am planning on selling my 17'' MBP to one of my good friends as I'd like to switch to a MacBook Air since it will better suit my needs. I was wondering if anybody has an idea of what a fair price would be.
Here are the general specs:

Monitor: 17''
Processor: 2.33 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo

Thanks for the heads up! I think I'm actually going to Target first . . .I've heard that some targets have started handing out vouchers already. It would be great to get a voucher and then just wander around. I think you're probably right about 16gb selling out first. Good Luck! If I'm unsuccessful you may see me at BB too.

I see you got FCP in your sig, i use Premiere CS5 and Photoshop you suggest the drobo would be good stuff like that? I have checked out the drobo before, they do look good. I just need something i can remote into and control when im away kick off downloads etc...as the server will be headless (no monitor)
The regular Drobo was too slow for HD video editing, but the Drobo S works great. It is not necessary as fast as a RAID-0, but I have had no slow downs or stuttering in FCP with the Drobo S.

My question for discussion would be: 1) would you consider buying a used LCD monitor off of ebay? 2) What new 19" LCD would you recommend in the $450 price range?
I've heard good reviews about the Dell 1905FP 19", which is going for around ~$300 on eBay. Last time I jailbrok was my 3G, Now I have an i4 with 4.3.2 and when they went untethered recently I jailbroke.
I havent used many themes long enough to be sure, so this might just be the theme I'm using. However with the Aquarium theme, and I suspect many others, every day I get several banner ads that pop up in the background, behind the icons.
What the heck is the deal with that? I don't need what should be a static background image pulling web content to serve me up ads.
Is this a thing the developer of the theme controls, is it a consequence of having the jailbreak, or something else?
More importantly how do I turn it off.
I searched the forum but could not find a thread that covered this.

Ok so here is plan B in effect:
Got the retail disc on the way, going to erase my flash drive and put the retail image on that drive. Once I boot from it I'll erase the 1,1's HDD and do a clean install.
Hopefully that works.

When I used to shoot weddings I did photo journalist type of photos. Doing 3 hours of posed photos would be a nightmare. ;)
Seriously! Hour and a half would be the most I could use, my time would be better spent on something else.
But, as long as your sister is pleased with the shots, awesome! You should see if you can post some up here when she gets them!

As a previous poster said, I am also folding to heat my room. I am running FAH on my 3.06 GHz Celeron (aka My Server) (see sig) and it is amazing how much heat that makes. Intel's Prescott line of CPU's produce incredible amounts of heat, and the 3.06 GHz Celeron D runs folding at about 125º F, and my case is (shockingly) around 78º F. My parents are really cheap and don't heat the house enough (my room is about 63º F) and when I started running FAH this winter fulltime, I noticed that it went up to about 68º F.

I am folding because my aunt has had cancer twice, and this time it doesn't seem like it wants to go away. :(
Also, a family friend has cancer in her bone marrow, which they are not sure how to cure. They are trying but they can't figure out how. :(

Unfortunately it isn't since they aren't using the same chipset.
You could, however, upgrade the 8-core base model to a 12-core or upgrade the quad core base model to a single 6-core.
Would I need to get another mother board with that?
And Second, this might seem like an odd question (forgive me, im really not too knowledgable on this subject) but would I be able to keep the actual Quad Core processor and add that additional 6 core processor?
